I am decoding my 1984 944 n/a car.
code are CO2, 404, 418, 650, 666, 900 CO2 catalytic converter 404 front and rear sway bars 418 side mouldings 650 is removable sunroof 666 appears to be "without laquer or chrome preservation". 900 is stated as "tourist car" Can anyone help me out with either of these last two codes? anything special here? I think it means the orig. owner picked the car u p in Germany and did a tour. Then the car was shipped to US.
My 87 has the 900 code plus another 9 code which indicates some sort of tourist car set-up.

968 GUY is referring to "European Delivery". Porsche has done it for a long time, probably since the 356 days. It isn't common, but I don't think it's anything to write home about either (harharharharharhar). That said, don't know if I've ever seen a 944 with it, cool!
I've read some Guard's Red cars didn't have clear coat (aka clear lacquer). This doesn't help the Guard's Pink syndrome. ![]() Take care! Last edited by FrenchToast; 08-14-2012 at 07:34 PM.. |

I can agree with the "pink" car paint.
This is a race car and the paint looks....bad. |
