Tire size question

OK I have an 86 951 currently with early 17" Boxter twists with spacers.
I have a set of Borbet cups 17" I want to put on the car. Offsets are front 23
and rear 17.
First question-Will I need spacers?
2nd question-Anyone know what tire size would work best on my 951?

First off, you need to know what the offsets are for the Borbet wheels to see if they're compatible with your car. Second, the stock diameter for your car's tires is right at 25". Use the TireRack research tools to find tires that have the right diameter and tire width to fit your needs. I did this when I bought my 17" Cayman wheels for my '87 NA. The original Cayman tires were a bit too wide and diameter too tall. It caused a minor rub in the outer fender lip. After massaging the data I found the right size and Factory diameter so the speedo reads properly. I also used a 1/4" spacer up front so the wheel would seat properly on the hub. It had a rounded shoulder.

3 944's, 2 Boxsters and one Caman S, and now one 951 turbo. Really miss the Cayman.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

The Borbets will work without spacers.
Porsche recommends 225/45/17 up front and 255/40/17 in the rear . If the overall diameter is not the same your speedo will be off.
