944 starting problem
I recently purchased a 84 944 non turbo....The owner stated that it needed a fuel pump. It was not running when I bought it. Got it home checked for fuel at the rail, no problem. I was not getting spark. took out the DME relay and tapped it a few times, also tried the emergency jumper. Still did not start. Went out early the next morning and it started rite up....Was driving around yesterday and stopped off at the store and when I came back the car would not start. I had no spark and no tach bounce. So this morning after checking all that I could think of, I turned the key and again the car started up. I'm wondering if it is a issue with the cabin temp. I had a Honda accord that wound not start when it was really hot outside. I had to replace ane of the relays in that as well and it solved the problem.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated |

I would replace the reference sensors. Mine would heat soak and randomly not start if the car was warmed up. I replaced both sensors it starts right up every time!

Also replace ignition switch (not the tumbler necessarily, but the electrical portion thereof).
