brake/clutch fluid!
driving home last night , i was shifting down a gear, and my foot slipped off the clutch pedal! stopped to take a look-see, and bejeezus, fluid all over the carpet, right under the clutch pedal. huge amount too! of course, all over my snakeskin boots as well.
anyway, as i have already changed the master, and slave cylinders, would i be right in assuming, that the connecting hose from master cyl, attaching to pedal has let go, in a big way? i'm bad enough with electrics, but hopeless when it comes to hydraulics. any idea's, or similiar happenings? regards, bob. |

There is only a mechanical linkage from the clutch pedal to the master cylinder.
My guess is that the new master cylinder is leaking. Call it an educated guess because 6 months after I replaced the master cylinder in my 944 it leaked all over my carpet under my clutch pedal. The part was guaranteed for a year so I just got a new one and re-replaced it.

bad master cylinder - no doubt about it.
Problem with the "new" ones is: they are actually NOS (New old stock) So while it is technically new, it may actually be upwards of 17 years old.... rebuild or replace - hopefully it is under warranty. AFJuvat |

brake/clutch
thanks guys, for your input. i automatically discounted the master cylinder, as it was a "new" item. guess i'll go get another one, and replace and see what happens! cant believe how much fluid has actually got down there!. regards, bob.
