I am getting ready to make a major service on my 1989 944 2.7l. I'm not buying the parts @ Pelican only because of the prices, would really like to get from people that help our couse! But the wallet won't allow it. But I'd still like to hear from people who had experience with this kind of services. I would appreciate any tips and or advice.
Here's a list of parts I am changing: -oil cooler seals -oil cooler alignment tool (Pelican)(unless someone could lend me one (I'm in So FLa)) -oil & filter change -coolant flush -coolant hoses (A@@@A kit) -water pump -thermostat -timing, balance + drive belts -front engine seals -tensioner & camshaft rollers And these items are possible depending on how they "look" when I start the job. (oil cooler seals are leaking/oil in coolant...) -radiator -expansion tank -cooling system cap If anyone would like to help??? (hehehe) Guys, please feel free to give advice and pointers, I definetely could use. I am somewhat mechanically trained, and I do own the Haynes + the workshop manual (CD-ROM). But still, you never know!
