Thumbs up Ready for an SFR 968 Super Charger?

Guys my car is almost done and SFR has done it again! Check it out...

From the 968.net Board
Quote:
We are just about finished with the 968 supercharger system. We have the blower, intake piping and factory mass-air sensor,993 blow-off valve, front mount Spearco intercooler and intercooler piping mounted. We just need to do a few more things and then it will be finished. I have some pics of the progress so far.Eric Sandoval will be posting them as soon as he gets a chance. We are sure you all will be very pleased. We also think we have a way to keep the A/C for those that are interested in that;^) We are expecting about 300-320 horsepower at the wheels out of this system so...... it should turn a fairly fast car, into a rocket ship!

Thumbs up

Where are you going to mount the parachute for reentry?

But seriously, what make tower brace is that? looks cool!

I foresee many rear tire purchases in your future.

From the pits and tears in the front bumper/spoiler I think he's had a few rough reentries!!!

Blew out a few fender screws too!!!

Well the car has new SO2's 285's....

As for the bumper it saw better days the car was used in AX's in No.Cal, explains the crap load of chips the hood and fenders are pretty bad too. After it returns from SFR it is getting sent to the Body shop where they are taking it a part and getting a full respray.

for $6995 i could get another 951. i wonder how long the average 968 engine will go before blowing. do they have any testing on that?

My objective is to have a bad arse 968 not a 951. I really don't care for the looks of the 951 (personal opinion) but the performance is pretty sweet. That is what I am trying to accomplish. Give my baby some big power!

For a month or two. The motor (and clutch) need to be strengthend to reliably put that kind of power to the ground (heavy duty oil cooler, forged pistons, custom ecu and reduced compression ratio at a minimum). Oh well - live and learn. God knows I've tried similar power increases on my 951s with not so reliable results. Best of luck - just don't let me drive it...

Porsche Crest

Let's not be so hard on Sandoval guys!

I presumed that if he put that much money into the engine he would fix up the paint job. I'm sure he has the sense to know the more power you pull out of an engine the more stress is going to be put on the engine/drivetrain. It's all a matter of what our personal acceptable level of performance Vs reliability is.
My priority is reliability with enough performance for fun so I bought a Porsche and leave it stock. I want more power so I'm looking to upgrade to a turbo or 968 (got to work on my panhandling "excuse me, do you have any extra hundred dollar bills?").

Sandoval, did you have any work done to the engine? It is a 11.0 to 1 compression engine stock right?
