Fitti helmet logo etc...
On my car I have a Personal steering hub and a steering wheel that has no manufacturers logo's. The steering wheel has stamped on the back "MADE IN ITALY". Also looking at the steering wheel from the back, it is stamped DG-00(center top) and on the right spoke ?0061 (not 100% bc the markings are very faint). on the front there is clearly a place where a Fitti helmet logo once was. Usually under the helmet logo there was a number, however mine has no number what so ever. The original wrap is long gone and has since been re covered(ugly like everything else on my car apparently).
Q's 1) Did Personal ever make a non numbered Fitti steering wheel that came with a helmet logo? I know they made E3's but I havent seen any with logo's. 2) Does anyone have a Fitti helmet logo they are willing to sell? 3) Anyone want to help me track down a logo? I sent a few PM's to some guys from the 911 forums that were talking about this a few years ago on some old threads, but haven't heard anything back in over a week now. the first pic is where the logo was( kinda hard to see but there is def an outline of of the logo and car wheels, rear wing, and nose of the car). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Just emailed Nardi-Personal to see what they have to say, if anything. The more I research it, the more I think someone made a fake. I really don't care but it just has my curiosity at the moment.

I can't imagine someone would make a fake. It's anodized aluminum I think, and then put a badge on and weather it, then remove? Unless they just added one to a non-logo wheel.
If you look REALLY closely in the first picture - there looks to be a code/number below the logo. I can make out a "P", followed by an "A" too. The logo came either black/silver accents or red/blue/silver. Also in metal or plastic, IIRC. Better yet - design your own logo - get it CnCed and snap it in. Then marvel at your custom wheel! Nice wheel. But the stitching really throws it all off. Also - the thumb rests are not quite the right contour. Take care! Last edited by FrenchToast; 02-23-2013 at 08:10 PM.. |

It is aluminum and What I have gathered from about 1000 websites and 1000 pages of google images, my guess it is from some where between 70's -80's and someone added the helmet logo to it bc the holes arent centered to "customize or fake a real FITTI. The E3 and E5 wheels all look identical( contour, mounting pattern, cut of the aluminum spokes) and mine measures 13 7/8" What I don't know is when Personal started stamping their logo on the reverse , and if and when they moved their "MADE IN ITALY" stamp higher on the center spoke. My assumptions are that it was originally born as one of the following
![]() i'm not sure they would waste their time stamping when it was just going to be covered anyways. or ![]() Personal also made the Fitti for 2 markets E3 and E5. They made steering wheels for cars and marine uses. The difference in the automotive and marine use is a $200 price tag and both use the same hub. Either way, I've learned way more about Nadi-Personal and Emmerson Fittipalidi than I knew before. Not all time and effort is for nothing and I also found many more types of steering wheels I'd rather have.
