Need to replace water pump...what else?

While I'm in there what else should I replace??

Any good sites for parts?

Why are you changing the water pump? You have to undo the timing belt so might as well do a timing belt change if you haven't done it recently. And you might as well change all the front seals too while you're at it. And you're changing the thermostat too I guess?

This site (Pelican Parts) is pretty good for parts... just click the "New Parts Catalog" up top :)

Mike,

Pelican?

Begin with the waterpump , new or quality rebuilt, none of the cheap ebay China crap.

FOES-Front Of Engine Seals --- Pelican sells a kit.

New belt rollers and belts.

Clean the cooling system and radiator-do not use a full bottle of HD Prestone flush or similiar. Use half strength.

Test for coolant leaks before you remove the WP with a pressure tester to find pinhole leaks. 10 pounds pressure max.

New heater control valve and hoses

New thermostat and fan relay. Antifreeze.

Anything you break along the way...

and....

WP bolt installation kit

If your WP bolts are rusted, be prepared to drill out if one snaps off. A right angle drill attachment may work.
You may also need to replace the block threads.

Block off plate "O" ring

If the WP comes with the "Green" seal ----no sealant is required. It is on the gasket already.

If the WP comes with the black seal-- use a sealant like Permatex Hylomar or ...

Buy from Zims, much better prices, and better customer service.
