My deepest sympathy for your loss.
When you get back into it, if you are interested in Euro front and rear bumpers, I have some that could be used for molds. Oh, and add me to the list also. aribop AT comcast DOT net

I would like a sunroof when they are available. Would theyy work on a 89 S2? It's power, but I really don't care about operation, just want to save the weight. Please add: gotcabinfever@hotmail.com
Thanks!! |

New Part Update
New composite part to replace VW 477.955.737. Rear Window Wiper Motor Cover. Part is made from Toray 12K Carbon. Part has been clear coated. Check out the pics. I had an extra one of these in OEM plastic that I was about to toss and realised it would be an easy part to make.
This is the OEM plastic cover. New part displayed. New part installed. Cool lookin' accessory piece that takes less than one minute to remove the old part and install the new one.

Man! that is pretty! Almost makes me want to re install my wiper assy.
Have you thought about a gauge panel to go below the radio? or a panel to cover the radio and cubby hole openings? |

I had a couple of ideas that could be popular, 968 or 944 mirror kits would look great with out paint match.
there are a lot of 944s with ageing rear spoilers. One in carbon fiber would be awesome. There is also the Le Mans spoiler that is 2'' wider and 2'' longer. a great place to show off some clear coat CF. |

Gon fix it with me hammer

i don't get it ... the sunroof , yes, body panels yes
but fuel filler hose, headlight covers, wiper motor cover?? that's just bling factor right? how much weight reduction is to be gained from replacing small plastic parts with small CF parts? couple of grams? top tip... if you wanna loose weight, ditch the rear wiper assembly completely. there's none on my 44 , the one on my 24 never worked i don't have any rear visibility problems at all no offence guys , but this no function CF all over the place is rice pudding to me... it's only one small step up from using CF look laminated plastic on top of the original pieces...

Yes, some of the items are for interior dress up. The fuel hose cover will actually be stronger and has the potential to last longer than the stock plastic cover.
Agreed that not all the parts are going to be in everyones market. Some of the parts that I have look considerably better than the stock versions. Also realise that these parts don't have to be made out of carbon fiber. they will also be offered in fiberglass. Parts made from fiberglass will be slightly cheaper than carbon. If you get a fiber glass part, you can paint it to match the color of the vehicle's interior/exterior. (You can do the same with carbon parts as well). Basically, if you want to replace an interior part of the vehicle with a composite part, you allow yourself options of how you want that part to look in the vehicle when finished and installed. Kris
