Battery drain on heater blower fuse

Have traced a battery drain to the electronics that are attached to the fuse for the heater blower on my 1984 944. If I leave the fuse plugged in the battery will be dead in the morning, if I leave it out the car fires up first time. Battery was new just over a year ago.

Does anyone have a tutorial or procedure to work through? Apart from the blower does anyone know the other electronics that are likely connected to this fuse too?

THanks

Bad ignition switch? Do any other power accessories work with the key off?

You can also have a wiring issue that is causing a current leak to the key on circuits when the key is off. Stereo wiring, for example.

[SOLVED] Proof that seemingly unrelated problems can in fact be the same problem. Had been having trouble with a stuck hatch lock which I had wrongly assumed had seized due to age and bad weather. Turns out the electric hatch mechanism had jammed the lock open and thus was drawing current constantly whilst doing so. As soon as I released the mechanism and the motor cam reset to its position the current drain disappeared. So solved two problems with one stone.
