The 951 I turned down for 4k was in better shape than that by far.

I got an 87 951 that had been T-boned for $2,000. 116,000 easy miles (till he got hit). LSD, sport seats (in great shape), M474 suspension, plus a couple extra sets of wheels (phonies and sewer lids) and a bunch of other stuff.
This guy's car has been severely abused - at 176,000 miles, the engine and LSD trans are probably good as cores but not a helluva lot else. I wouldn't even pay $1,000. A very sad car. People like that shouldn't be allowed to own Porsches.

Haha that last one was funny. "original rims" yeah right. But I think he should have told me one more time how he doesn't want to sell it, just to make me more interested...

The car in the first OP add looks pretty nice except for the body damage all along the side and front of it, but needs a lot of expensive maintenance on a motor that already has 170,000 miles.........truly a $2000 car.
The car in the second add doesn't look that nice, needs an expensive clutch replacement, and who knows what else, with faded paint, and to top it off, a non-turbo.........truly a $2000 car. |

He was right about one thing but for the wrong reason: if you want "to be respectable among the fellow Porsche community" you wouldn't pay $4500!

That's it, I'm selling my 1984, with 107k miles for... Let's see... Yeah OK, $$$. In fact, I take the loss with a trade for any Lambo (must be 2013 or newer) or acreage in Hawaii. I'll even throw in a rear glass hatch for an additional Ferrari (any model) or unclaimed winning lottery ticket although I would be getting the bad end of the deal, right?
Ok, I'm awake now...
