Rear wheel bearings

A week ago I noticed a noise from rear that sounds like bad wheel bearing or bubble in a tire..
Since I had an appointment for a timing belt I asked them to investigate this noise, and they said it's a bad wheel bearing..
The thing is that all the rear wheel bearing were changed 9.000 miles ago. But it was the only thing that was changed (bearings and seals). Question is: should I change only bearing+seals or it's recommended to change other part to prevent them from immature wearing?
I have '84 944 NA with 85.000 miles on it
Thanks!

it's hard to explaint how sound is in a text message
but it's sounds like something mechanical..
like something rubbing in the wheel. The pattern is like this:
...*...*...* slowing down ......**...........***...........****...........
. - normal
* - noise
like something rubbing

About $40 a side; inner ball bearing, outer roller bearing, two seals and one o-ring.

Two hours a side.

Use a good jack stand and block the front wheels.

The seals harden and crack letting in water that rusts and pits the bearings.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

i have the same problem .. i think
i got an 84' 944 as well

the faster i go the more louder and frequent the noise is. its like a pulsating noise for each revolution of the tire ... almost like you can hear the road .. or something.

i took off my back right tired and did notice that there was a bearing about to go out (i could move the rotor in and out )

does this sound like it?

Or just a straight spindle. Might have been a bit easier.

Just a thought. A rear wheel bearing going bad can sound like a dragging brake pad.

well, just showed my car to my friend (who is a mechanic) and he said that it's a spindle and bearing are fine..
Where I can find them? there's no rear spindle here in Pelican parts, and I couldn't fine one in other placed, does this mean I will have to go junkyard, or it has some different name for it(rear spindle)?
