968 resurection
Ok. new questions. & years sitting Junk yard rescue. installing reworked head. Aside from the FOE service, belts, seals, What else is suggested that i do prior to attempting t start.
Here is the rub. I don't want to put too much more into this in case the engine is toast. Except, i don't want to look back if all works as designed and have a case of the shoulda coulda woulda's while i was in there. So, a list that balances both is what i am looking for. A tall order, but you guys have always risen to the occasion. thnx. John |

FIREMN,
Drain the fuel tank---Pull and check the in tank fuel screen 928 201 081 04. Change the fuel filter & clean the anti drain back. Pull the injectors, test, and reseal. Check the fuel pressure at the rail. Just a beginning. Low $$ items. GL J_AZ

I would just replace the "O" rings inside the OPRV.
If you move the housing you need to have the "LATE OPRV alignment tool" ~$45 ( or do a recent search on how to lathe your own by Jurgen. This TSB was published in 1990 and should still apply to the 968. ![]() ![]() Correct sealing rings shown in PET ![]() J_AZ
