What is my car worth?

I'm just curious what you all think my car is worth as I'm selling it and don't want to be too high/low.

I'm in the process of repainting it/prepping it for paint. When I sell it, it will be dent free and with flat black primer or maybe original paint for the price of the paint.

Here's the details.

New within 6 months:
Front of Engine Seals
Fuel Filter changed just a few days ago
DME Relay also changed a few days ago
Thermostat
Timing Belt (OEM)
Balance Belt (OEM)
Rebuilt Waterpump
Sport All Season Tires Rear (500 Miles on them)
AOS Seals
Coolant Temp Sensor
AOS Breather Hose
Waterpump Hose
Front Control Arm Bushings (OEM)
Front Sway Bar Bushings (OEM)
Belts Professionally Tensioned
Any bolt I removed I replaced with a new one

New within the last year - 2 years
Koni Sport Shocks in the rear!!!
CV Joint Boots on rear axles
Battery
Kicker Front Speakers
Alternator
Alternator belt

Not as good
The interior is a little rough and will need some TLC, dash cracks, ripped leather on front seats.
AC not working
PS pump small leak
Small Oil Leak

Is it the 85.5 you are selling? In addition to the questions above, is there any accident history and has the clutch been replaced? (If so, when and with what?)

Zims

215/60R 15 Falken Ziex Ze-912 on the rear. Front tires probably only have about

40% left on them.

They were replaced by the PO about 2.5 years ago

A shop called "German Auto" specializing in German cars (obviously)

Yes the black door cards with no pockets are in the car.

No I never bothered because I like to roll down the windows and take off the top.

I'm not positive where the leak is coming from. actually. I changed all the Front of engine seals.

Actual mileage is roughly 150000. The odometer stopped working but I kept track on my gps unit.

Yes the 85.5. No accidents and I don't believe the clutch has been replaced but it shifts perfectly with no problems.

Ebay has just sold a pair of 85.5's..
Each sold for a little over $3,000 after more than a dozen bids.
150k & 90k miles.. West Virginia and upstate New York.
Plenty of newish mechanicals on both and good paint.
Hard to tell from the ads which subsystems are inoperable.
I would expect that price range to fit your car once painted.

As I understand it, Cali cars sell for a bit less than East Coast cars..
Let us know your thoughts..

OP, I would list it at $3700 and prepare for offers in the $3000-3200 range.

expect 3500 if selling locally and you have the time, listing at 3700 is a good idea as said above. if you want fast and cheap, see ebay reference. remember though, that as owners, we are the ones who should realize these should trade for higher dolla.

edit: do you have all maintenance records?

I think $3,500 is a reasonable starting point for the car. The clutch is a big deal. It's rare to see one with this mileage and the original clutch. I realize not every buyer is knowledgeable about these cars, but that is a $1500 deduct off the value of the car to me. I would add $500 for the new paint. I would be looking at $2,500 tops if I were buying. (And I think I would be spending another $3,000 pretty quickly if I kept it.)

This last comment/question is VERY important when selling any Porsche car!
If you have records of the maintenance performed, for each "Factory suggested" mileage, you are way ahead of the game.

I know as a buyer, if there are no records...I walk away.

Its not the miles that gets an original clutch - but the age. I measured the disk off my '84 when the rubber center went, and it still had a looooong ways to go.

I'd say a selling price of $3-3.5K is reasonable, but I wouldn't simply pass by if I saw an asking price of not far north $5,000

The downside, is non black interior's really really show wear/age more than black ones. That's gonna hit you unless its immaculate.

It actually has all black interior. The seats are two-toned.

When the rubber cush drive starts disintegrating badly the clutch functions on the get you home tabs which means drive engages rather like with a dog clutch, ie it clunks. The tabs wont last forever either.

Can you see a bad rubber center thru the inspection hole or can you only tell by driving it?

Thanks

You're power is being transmitted through tabs once the center goes bad - you'll have a noticeable clunking if you go from throttle to off throttle.
