I have been reading the recent posts regarding noise from the rear - can anyone help..
I have noise coming from rear. I have replaced the wheel bearing on the right rear 3 times (side the noise is coming from), every time the bearing keeps going bad (i.e. can shake the wheel after driving a couple thousand miles). any ideas - wheel hub or trailing arm bad or could this also be related to cv-shaft... thanks |

A bent spindle can do this. What year is the car?
Did you torque the big nut to more than 350 foot pounds? Did you replace all of the seals? Did you get the spacers/seal races back in correctly? Did you spin the wheel on the questionable axle and check it's run out?

is the spindle the same as wheel hub? after installing the bearing, the wheel rotated fine with no noise at first and then started getting louder.
someone else recommeded replacing the spindle, but is this what porsche refers to as wheel hub, or is it the piece that sticks out from the outer cv shaft that locks into the hub? i know this sounds rudementary, but different cars call the same thing different names.. thanks, pnut |
