Belt Noise?

After the car being basically out of commission for the last two years (due to overheating and leaking coolant) I finally got the water pump replaced as it was puking coolant.

After picking up the car, I though I felt a buzz like vibration in the accelerator pedal? A little later I hit it hard and when I got it over ~4.5K it made a loud sound like a card in bicycle spokes! I could really feel it in the shifter as well. Does this sound like a bad roller or miss-tensioned belt?

I still have an issue with the temp gauge but I'll leave that for another thread..

Either way, I'd be taking the car back, assuming you paid a mechanic to change the waterpump. Otherwise belts too loose would probably make a slapping sound, from hitting the belt covers, or a wining sound if too tight. Bad rollers would be more of a grumble sound. The belt covers are coming off either way too check tension or the rollers. If the car sat with gas in it for 2 years, you might have bad gas in it that gunked up the fuel system or just isn't burning right. My 2 cents, I'm sure someone else will chime in too

I'd suspect mistimed balance shafts first and go from there. That would explain the 'buzz'.

So many folks get this wrong yet it's virtually foolproof! Keyway up, line up timing marks on back of gear with mark on housing. Done.
