How much gas is in the tank?
What if the gas is stale? Youre smelling gas but perhaps you should detach the fuel hoses on the fuel rail to so you can see the gas and be sure. Maybe you can smell the gas at this point because I think stale gas a different smell. Also, maybe your injectors got a little clogged when you tried to start it. I would also "jump" the dme relay using the paperclip method to ensure the pump is turning on. At least you will have a little more data. Kind of douht it but spark plugs or air filter could be faulty. Lastly, how many times have you cranked the engine? A dry fuel hoses need to fill up with gas and this could take 30 seconds of cranking. Last edited by 944tothefloor; 05-17-2014 at 09:09 PM.. |

May want to replace the fuel filter while you're at it.

Switch the return line out of the fpr with another that dumps into a container, give it a start, and that will tell you if fuel is getting up to the rails and being returned to the tank. Not unless you have a pressure tester you can use at the rails?
Some other culprits might be alarm module or fuel pump |
