16V Oil Check Valve Gasket size?

I would like to change the seals on the oil check valve in the head of my 944 S2. Unfortunately the PET doesn't list the gasket and a new check valve is $400+. I can always use a micrometer and measure the OD and ID of the gasket but I don't know how much it is compressed. Has anyone changed this before? What gaskets did you use? Thanks.

are those just viton o-rings on the device? Looks like a couple of them?

That would narrow down the choices ... there are not an infinite number of o ring available.

Slight interference ( id and od) will seal but much more might nip the o-ring or even prevent installation.

You mentioned measuring the oring, but you could also measure the groove landing & width, and with a itty bitty snap gauge measure the bore. a couple .001 interference entotal will stop its weepin.

Honestly, if you give up, and there is the slightest drag while inserting the blow off valve, I would feel good to go with the old seal. Any nicks, cracks or brittleness would have me looking along with you.

I would verify the 16v uses the sane check valve; but this is the part number for the one i used on my turbo head.

hey techno, do the two orings sit in those two grooves, the narrow one and the wider one ?

odd that the upper groove would have so much side play, especially with that bore hole you can see in the groove

999-707-078-40, AKA ; rubber o-ring 12 x 1,5.

nearly $10 lol.

I am going to the oring box @ napa when my check valve needs some luvin.

hey. I changed the rings on my S. I don't know the specific size for them, but they're Parker's O-Ring's Part number 2-013 and 2-014 in Viton material.

The S2 uses the same valve as the S right?
