944S Fuel rail fitting thread pitch
Guys -
Trying to get an order together to make up some fuel lines to adapt the 944S to the NA chassis. The S chassis had hard lines with metric fittings built in, the NA does not. Since I have to adapt these, I thought I would just make up some replacement lines. I have piles of AN fittings, but I couldn't locate the appropriate Metric adapter for the hard line at the fuel rail. Does anyone know the size? It is either M14 or M16x 1.5 Also, I am adapting an S2/968 style FPR onto this rail. The stock S FPR that came on this rail had a barb connection for the fuel line. I prefer a threaded fitting for fuel lines, so I ordered a replacement FPR with the threaded fuel fitting. This came stock on the S2 and 968 cars. I don't have it in front of me. Does anyone know the size/thread pitch on this as well? Thanks in advance. Paul |

Paul,
Can you post some pics. Not sure which fittings you are specifying. I am using my stock SO OEM fuel rail on my 968 intake manifold. Trying to better understand and help. Than, later...

Bob,
Thanks for taking the time to reply, but those are actually the fittings that connect the replacement lines to the threaded hard lines on the chassis. The NA chassis doesn't ushave those fittings. It is set up like a 951, which you have to install bite-type fittings on to convert from metric to AN. Lindsey also sells those at an outrageous markup. I bought mine from McMaster Carr for much less. Not really interested in buying Lindsey's replacement kit as I have literally dozens of AN fittings and meters of hose I can use. Guru, I snapped a potato quality picture as I was walking out the door this morning. ![]() The 968 setup is a little different than what is pictured. I was able to determine that the fitting in the picture is indeed M16x1.5. I need to determine if the fitting on the FPR is the same, or if it is M14x1.5. I am hoping to order the appropriate fitting asap so that when the new FPR gets here I can get these lines assembled same day. I am planning to use the BATInc metric hose ends as those appear to be the cleanest solution. Thanks! |

![]() paul951- If you have already found what you need this may not help, but for others I have available a series of "Direct Connect" hose ends in the correct sizes that allow both Metric and AN fittings to be crimped to the same hose. This eliminates the need for adapters that can add to the cost and may take up valuable space............. ![]() As above, this may help with the fitment of aftermarket components in Hi-Pressure Fuel systems such as EFI.
