Engine noise

It seems like I have more exhaust noise in the engine bay, and a slight decrease in power at times(which I think is my fuel pump). But when I open my hood and have a listen, there seems to be more of an exhaust noise coming from the engine. What would be some things that would cause that??

Loose or broken exhaust header studs or flange bolts.

Cracked exhaust header 1-4.
Look up from under car where the 2 pipes join for cracks.

The first thing I would check would be the o2 sensor, it's fairly common for them to be cross-threaded, which causes them to rattle loose over time. It sounds like a nasty header leak.

Put a piece of Kleenex on the end of a stick and move it around the exhaust system and manifold. Look for the Kleenex to flutter in the area of a leak, while the engine is running. I saw this cool trick on Wheeler Dealers. It actually works.
