Question Overheat and coolant loss.

My car overheat when driving in a stop-and-go traffic and never overheat when driving in a high-way.
Everytime after the overheat, I fill-up the coolant and bleed it well after cool-down.
After running, the coolant loss again.
I visually inspect the coolant reservior and it is OK.
No water leakage inside the engine compartment when engine running in idle.
Sometime, coolant goes out from the reservior overflow tube after running my car in a stop-and-go city.
That's all i found.
Will my thermostat failed??
Will my coolant reservior leak??
Will my reservior cap not providing enough pressure??
Please help!! Thank

The first thing I would suspect is thermoswitch/cooling fan failure - - your car is overheating in stop and go traffic - when there isn't enough airflow through the radiator.

If your thermostat was bad, your car would overheat all the time.

The increased temp is forcing the coolant out of ther expansion tank while you are driving.

Do not drive the car until you find the cause.

Check the following:

Fuses for cooling fan(s)
Thermoswitch for cooling fan(s) - located on the radiator, drivers side (assuming a left hand drive car)
Cooling fans themselves - worn or binding.

Question Overheat and coolant loss

While i stop the car in hot, the Fans were on.
While i stop the car in cold, the Fans were idle.
While i stop the car with A/C on, the Fans were on.
Will the Fan relay or thermoswitch failed??
Thanks

If the fans are running that may be the only thing cooling the car down.

When was the last time you had the timing covers off to inspect the water pump? I worked on a 951 last weekend for someone where the T-belt was too slack and was slipping on the almost frozen water pump. He had ther same symptoms that you have.

Question Overheat and coolant loss

My water pump and belt were replaced in the last year, maybe 13 months ago. Will it failed??
Or just my coolant reservior cap failed??
Thanks

Go with the cap and the thermostat. Start easy. If your thermostat is not working the radiator will be cool to the touch in the center even when the engine is running hot.

Question Overheat and coolant loss

My radiator is hot (both center and side) while the engine is running.
Should i focus on the cap only, how can i test the cap before i replace it with a new one.
Thanks
