944 transmission bearing NLA please help
Hello, I am overhauling my early 944 transmission. However, the main shaft needle bearing at the front of the case is No Longer Available, even through the dealership they cannot find it. I've tried the internet and bearing distributors and dealerships and parts stores, this bearing is non existent. the bearing is damaged and needs to be replaced, has anyone else run into this issue or know where I can find one? Its an FAG bearing number 310-4088

This part is indeed no longer available, at least at the present, as part number 999-201-476-00, 083-311-123, or 083-311-123-TPP. I can provide a good used one -- they are fairly indestructible and rarely need replacement unless something unusual has happened. PM me or email to catelluseng@gmail.com for a good used part.

you could try what i did for power steering pinion bearing, go to a bearing distributor have it speced out and see if any other brand has a bearing of the same dimensions available. and then check amazon to see if they have it.
