Noisy FP, and FPR Gage Questions

Middle of last summer, I replaced the in-tank screen, fuel check-valve, rear fuel hoses, and fuel filter on my 85.5. Ran great for the rest of the summer and into fall.

Just out for the first spring run yesterday, after five months of winter storage (full tank with stabilizer). Felt great, but after warmed up and when stopped at a crossroads, I notice the fuel pump is suddenly a bit louder than usual.

So I'm thinking...did something get "stuck" during storage - like the check valve, or FPR? Or maybe the FP itself is finally giving up?

Based on symptoms, it sounds like a fuel pressure check might be in order (as a tired or not working FPR can cause a noisy pump)...so I'm looking at either Bruce Arnn's removable gage, or Lindsey's permanently mounted gage.

Questions: does it make sense to test fuel pressure first - assuming that as I'd replaced the other fuel related stuff listed above, that all else is likely ok? Is there an easy way to test the fuel pump (and isolate this as the cause) without removing it? And should I go with the permanently mountable fuel pressure gage? (makes sense I think). And if I do this...should I choose the "dry" version or the liquid filled one? My gut says go dry, as the liquid filled might crap out sooner. Any comments? Thanks!

My fuel pumps on both cars would make a loud humming noise after a hot 2 hour ride.

I bought a new OEM Bosch pump and installed with new fuel filter and cleaned the check valve.

I already had replaced the tank screen.

Somewhat better but after a few long drives in hot weather the humming returned.

After a lot of searching, I found a possible solution.

Buy new Bosch FPD and FPR (both). Replaced on 2 cars and now it has been over 2 years and no humming.

Replacing only one did not help.
