1987 944 electrical issues!!
Hey y'all, I am new to this site but I have a 1987 Porsche 944 that won't keep a charge! We have replaced the battery, alternator, and checked fuses. I can jump it and it runs awesome but if I turn it off for three or four hours the battery is dead. I am thinking maybe I fried something in the wiring from battery to alternator. Any ideas?

You have a amperage draw that is killing your battery. Any mechanic who is good can isolate the draw, using an ammeter, and pulling fuses one by one until the draw diminishes. Look for a light that isn't turning off, or a radio that is always drawing.
A normal 944 will draw about 60 milliamps at rest. More than that will kill the battery.

Have you used the automatic hatch release at all? Sometimes the mechanism gets stuck which stops the catch release motor from turning off, that will drain your battery very quickly.

A couple of things that could be causing battery to discharge:
1. Radio (aftermarket type continues to draw after ignition shuts down) 2. Bad door switch (when door closes it should trigger the accessory circuit shut off) until then radio plays and power windows, dme, etc are still active draining battery (close door while watching ammeter) 3. Alternator diodes/short internal 4. hatch motor (as stated above) 5. Stuck relay(pull fuses while watching ammeter) 3-4 hours is mighty fast, there must be something really stuck...
