Nah, leave the logo recessed. It is perfect just the way it is. I can imagine it all finished in a smooth production piece. Shoot! You do not even have to finish them in color; just sell them prepped to take a can of paint. I guess you could powder coat them or finish them and charge extra for the hobbyist without much time to do them their selves. Kodos! to you for such a great and very much need piece of cosmetic upgrade. Now I can feel like I have the upper level Porsche brakes and not have to spend for them when they are not even needed for our cars anyway. slotted or drilled rotors with new pads will stop any NA car on a dime! no need for a conversion just to see the porsche logo everytime you change your brakes. You are awesome!

Not to mention the fact that they don't even fit under my wheels! I'll have to put a bit more thought into the paint situation but it shouldn't be difficult. The most difficult part is I'm moving into college at the end of this week. Lots to figure out! I'll try and keep up with this, though. Thank you!

Well, no response from Porsche North America yet. I think at some point I'll start modeling the molds in solid works

I have to agree with you, PHillary, that the slotted rotors with new textar pads combined with some brand new brake cylinders gives me incredible confidence on the road to avoid any potential accidents that may happen (I've come very close to some careless / unobservant drivers before). The stopping power really is a lot better than it used to be with my old warped discs. They aren't bad brakes for the road!

Well, if PORSCHE does not respond or even if they say no to your idea, you could always make customized ones that say stuff like "Wild Beast", "Hillary “or "Best Grip", and they will still look cool and give us what we want. A little style or uniqueness in the brake caliper department.

I'd be weary of throwing them up on eBay. There's someone from Porsche's legal dept that are always hunting for stuff like this. They'll send a take down notice pretty quickly. But I do see a lot of non licensed stuff on there though, so not sure if people just don't care about those notices.

I have been making some Porsche Techniker t-shirts and coveralls and I've only done them on the forums, and some meets. I got a take down notice on eBay when I put them up.

Another option, if they do say no, is to machine blank molds so you guys can apply high-temp vinyl PORSCHE decals like a lot of people do. No issues there!!

I'm not doing ebay. That's not what I want - what I want is to provide these to my forum friends to improve the look of your car. I, too, am weary of eBay stuff and I'd rather not get too big with stuff like this. I just want to share something neat with you guys, I don't see why that would ever be an issue. But, you know, nobody can do anything anymore without being sued, so...

Here's a viable option (I'd have to check the fit)

If you're asking about if these are for a 924 or 944, they're for a 944 but doesn't the 924 have the same brakes as the 944 base? (at least the turbo 924 and S2?)

flat with the sticker i'm cool with it. I think ltfisher means the numbers, I don't think there can be a copyright on the numbers like 924 or 944, maybe this is something you can look into since I maybe incorrect about the numbers but it shouldn't be any difference between 944 and 234 legally.

Oh yeah, that is correct but if I was to use the same font that the 944 logo is set in I don't know if it would be an issue...

can your printer read cad drawings like AutoCAD?

Well, that depends. I can print 3D cad models... Autocad is 2d. But I'm unsure of how auto cads 3d works but I think it's primitive. I can take any solid model from any 3d program, polygon or solid model based, and print it.

Thanks PHillary for clarifying that for me. Yes I did mean how about using the numbers instead of "Porsche."

I wanted to know about the 3D printer because I too am a 3D artist (Architecturally speaking). I have seen them at school (never has any media to print) but never heard of anyone owning a personal one. Is it affordable? What brand name? If I send you some CAD data could you see if it will print it? Interesting, very interesting.

Yes, until recently it's been hard to own one. This brand is M3d and it is great for most things. Needs a but of learning but so far it's been reliable. It's $340 and the filament spools are $13 a piece which gets you a lot of filament. All I have to do (I'm pretty sure this goes with most printers because I did this on the $40,000 drafting printer we have at school) is convert the file to stl format. I'm sure it will print whatever you have in mind!
