Convert a regular 944 to 951 nose?
Hi, how hard/easy it is to give a staight 944 the front look of a 951 (Turbo)?
Simple as swaping bumper covers? Idem for back valence? Thanks! |
You will need more than just the bumper cover. You will also need the two front fenders, bumper beam, bumper shocks, nose panel, headlight covers and headlight palstic trim pieces from a 951 or S2.
The fenders have a different shape where they mate with the bumper cover. Also the nose panel is different to fit the shape of the bumper cover, and with that said the headlight covers are slightly different for the shape of the nose panel. |
In short, the only piece that is the same between the 944 and the 951 is the hood.

Or buy a fiberglass front 951 bumper that is made for the 944
Most fiberglass companys have it |
Everyone else is dead on with regard to the turbo nose, so I'll just fill in the details on the rear valence... I'm a fan of the look, and hate staring at the spare tire well any time I'm behind the car, so I'll probably do this one myself before too long.
Short version is that you need to drill a total of 9 holes into the car, then just bolt it on. There are some details here on exactly how to do it right: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-924-944-968-technical-forum/90745-will-944-turbo-valence-fit-non-turbo.html#post630464 |
