Battery indicator brightens

Recently I notice my battery light on dash brightens as I turn on lights, wipers, or apply brakes. Recently replaced relay but is this more voltage regulator specific?

Knowing electrical issues are difficult trying to determine troubleshooting steps.

Is your car an early or late car? Not necessarily voltage regulator specific, could be that the whole system is in need of a cleaning (grounds/terminals). Could be a failing battery, failing alternator as well.

Diode going south in your alternator.

I have an extra Kaehler Voltage Regulator that I used to diagnose my alternator troubles (headlight dimming). Used for about 30 minutes. It solved my problem and is easy to install. $5.00 + shipping (Priority Mail 2-3 Days is $5.95) and it's yours. Let me know before it goes on Pelican and/or eBay.

Thanks to all who replied. My vehicle is Euro spec 1984. Vehicle sits a lot due to lots of travel. Will pull records to see when/if alternator was ever changed.

Currently 318000 miles on odometer. Recent servicing had voltage regulator changed.
