944S Heater valve orientation

Can someone snap a pic of show me the proper orientation of the heater valve on the 16 valve engines. I've taken mine off to replace the oil cooler seals and water pump and did not make note of how it is supposed to be oriented. There's VERY little room between the steering fluid reservoir, oil filter, and heat shield.....

I'll do some Googling in the meantime hoping I'll run across a pic that might show it.

Dave

Nevermind.. I think I've found it. But if you still want to post a pic, by all means especially if it is one with the engine in the car. The pics I've found are all engines out of the car but that power steering reservoir is really really close.

Just curious why you are replacing it (personal investment in this question). Is it leaking? I have to trace a leak and it was suggested to me this might be the place to start.

Not replacing it. Just putting it back on after doing a water pump and oil cooler seal replacement.

Dave, if you need one, I can take a picture this week for you.

Westy, when I did the oil cooler seals on my car, I removed the valve too. I can not remember if you have to, but it is easier to do with the valve removed.

^^^^ Check,,got it. It's still too cold here to crawl around on the ground, so it'll just have to wait a few weeks!

I got it. I found a couple of pics. I just haven't gone back out there to finish it up. Too damned cold now. Removing the valve and disconnecting the hard pipe that runs above the exhaust should be removed in order to make more room to get in to the oil cooler. I didn't have to remove the exhaust from the head since I was replacing the water pump. Lots of room to get the oil cooler in and out with it out of the way.
