Snow

It's snowing.. alot. My Minivan tears through the snow, my 944 did too.. except I was sideways most of the time. I'll take any reccomendation on tires.

I'm a transplanted Yankee (born and raised in Conn), here since finishing school at RIT (Rochester, NY) in 80', and boy do I miss the snow.

We used to get our dirtbikes out when the road had accumulated about 1-2 inches and with our riding boots, support ourselves as we'd fly down the road in our subdivision...especially at night. Man, that was a blast! Here? We're lucky to get snow to fall, much less to even considering accumulating. It did snow maybe an inch or two last New Years, and it was the most in like 5-7 years, too!

Oh well...have fun in the snow boys.....but come March, I know you'll be begging for the grass to grow and the cold to depart

I'm actually just running some all-season tires right now. I tend to have no problems other than it wanting to skid real bad when I hit the brakes, but if ya just tap them it's fine.

Although right now my alignment is totally screwed up from hitting the guard rail...makes it hard to control on dry roads, so snowy roads is a complete nightmare.

Was out earlier seeking out snow covered roads and piles of snow to drive my MOTHERS truck through! Damn thats fun! I had her truck all over the road! You know it's not that hard to keep her truck under control in the snow. Theres no way in hell in would take the 44 out. I need her looking and driving her best when it comes time to sell. You guyz are nuts driving the 44 around in the snow. What if you lose control and F up your car?

I HEAR they're really great, but I was also told by my uncle (long-time 944'er) that unless you have the turbo they're overkill. I kinda would like a little more traction than my el-cheepo all-seasons are giving, but if you had blizzaks you have nothing to complain about .

The only problem with Blizzaks is that they are strictly winter tires and they wear our very quickly if you use them on dry roads. Blizzaks are unbeatable in the snow and ice, but they aren't good in the dry. I'm fond of the RE910 as an all-season tire. Pretty good dry traction, very good in the rain, and very good in the snow (for all season tires at least).
