944 At Local Wrecking Yard
Hi all, I recently bought my first Porsche an '80 911sc, but am always on the hunt for good used euro parts at local yards for my Bimmers.
Came across a 944 today - engine is burned but most of suspension, some interior is present. Anything I should grab that's of value or that someone needs?? Didn't take a picture but its silver with black interior, fire stopped at firewall

limited slip differentials are worth something if they're in good shape

Hmm, not sure I want to invest the effort pulling the transaxle
It has the early style dash. Seats were there, kinda rough, non sport. Also black door cards looked decent. Sunroof/targa panel is there. Dash is a bit melted / stripped. If I make it back Sunday I'll snap some pics of it. |

The easiest place to potentially profit from a junker is the wheels- if it has Fuchs, you definitely want them. They sell for $1000+ USD for a set that's in semi-decent shape, and can go for as much as $2k after a refinish job.

![]() Wheels are long gone though. What's the best way to tell real Fuchs from knock-offs? |

I went and had a look as well today.
Its an 83 and as OP stated everything in the engine bay is toast... Someone grabbed the cam cover as well. I grabbed the rear hatch struts for 5 bucks... Didn't look at the under carriage but all seemed there except the wheels / tires. |

Where is this? It's an '83 so I highly doubt it has a LSD in the back, but if it does, I wouldn't mind having an extra transaxle laying around for my '83 ROW 944...

Bucks Auto parts...
Look em up though as they have moved. They are now behind the CP yards in Ogden at the end of 61 Ave SE. Nice and clean though. |
