Fuel rail / Injectors
While playing under the hood I noticed my fuel rail was loose. Upon further inspection, I see that the rear bracket that bolts to the manifold is broken. This allows the whole fuel rail to move sideways about 1/2 inch. I fashioned a small "L" bracket and attached it through the bolt that was already there. It's better, but not perfect. Is this a problem? Big, Small or not really. All of the injectors seem to be seated properly.
I did notice however that the injector right by this bracket has a little more oil/dirt deposit than the other three, Related? Will try the Haynes suggestion of disconecting each one while running to see if any are defective. Seems to be running OK. Thanks James |

Don't sweat it too bad, just make sure they're seated in good. If yer really concerned, go the an O-ring kit ('bout $6), get the little helmets for them ('bout $dunno)cuz you'll break em getting them off. Take em all out, clean the intake where they seat, swap orings, carefully clean underneath where orings go. put your injectors back in, with the plug facing the right way (don't forget a little clean ATF for the lubba lubba) and then press & wiggle the fuel rail on, then bolt it down. Make another, tighter bracket if you think needs be.

My bolthole for the front bracket is stripped. I have not had any noticable problems, concequently, I haven't had it repaired. No leaks, or problems seating the injectors.
