Racing guys, bolting seat to the floor?

Wondering if anybody who has done this, can share details on their brackets/pictures.
I know that sometimes in order to fit inside the car with a helmet on, it is necessary to cut out the seat mounts and bolt the seat to the floor.

I am considering doing this as well, but for reasons of pure headroom. I am 6'6 and over big bumps in the road, my head touches the sunroof

I have early manual non-sport seats, so the seat can't be changed to be any lower down. I have no interest in non-original seats, either, I hate the look of "race" seats.

Putting the seat on the floor would be good for at least an inch more space...but my concern is related to the thin sheet metal that the bolt would be passing through. Could reinforce the pan by welding 1/4" plate or something underneath...but wanted to see other ideas first.

I did on my Boxster when installing race seats. BK Seat brackets and adapters allow the use of reinforced OEM mounting points and hardware so it is certainly stronger than while on a slider. Not much room for tools in there so a box wrench was needed to tighten the front bolts. I gained about 4" of headroom.

Kinda off the subject, I had a 944 covered from Sue from ASM, cover my seats, shes on the fast and loud show, right up the highway from me, always fun to meet a tv show personality!

I'd like to know the answer to this question as well. I'm not quite as tall, 6'3" but head room is a bit of an issue for me if there's a simple process id like to know before I put the seats back in haha. same seat set up as v2 early manual non sport.
