Power mirror and cruise control failure
My power mirrors don't work on both sides. There is no lose wire. Any way to test the adjustment switch on the driver door and the L and R switch on the center console? Car is a 90 s2. No fuse blown
the cruise control also doesn't work. It won't engage at speed but acceleration does work. Is the CC ecru the culprit? |

All I can think of is to start at the selector switch and see if you've got continuity and take it from there. My Haynes manual is pretty worthless when it comes to the cruise control and whether these two systems are in any way electronically related.
I'd take a multimeter and check that 12 V is present at both the selector switch and at the center console. If so then you can trace the problem upstream from there. |

Hi,
Your cruise control module (the silver box under the dash) is bad. Accelerating rather than setting a speed is one of the common failure modes. Solder joints are cracked on the circuit board. I posted pictures of cracks on this forum. Search for "cruise control refurb". The electric servo unit in the engine bay is working correctly. Peter |

Thanks! I fixed the cruise control yesterday. It was the soldering points on the controller. It looks good but I guess somewhere there was poor contact.
Fixed the power mirror as well. The switch on the center console was disconnected. I suspect that happened when the stereo was changed. Thanks all for your ideas! Last edited by djantlive; 01-18-2018 at 10:37 PM.. |
