Adjustable 16V Cam Gear?

Is there a such thing or a company that makes an adjustable Cam Timing Gear for the 16V S engines? IF so can you all point in the right direction as to where to get one from? Please!

Well, if you look at the factory service manual, you will discover that the 16 valve engines came stock with an adjustable gear.

Lol! thank you. No wonder I couldn't find info on one. I was just trying to see if I could help my mechanic finish up a little quicker. Thanks again.

They do exist but they are rare - I have one such piece for the 16v engine, brand was "Dial a Cam".
It seems they were produced many years ago and then the supply ran out.

It has drilled/tapped holes for 0/1/2/3/4 degrees advanced or retarded and can be adjusted to a new position in about 10 minutes.

I have one of their gears on my 8v engine as well.

If there were a lot of interest it might be worth sending mine off for "reproduction" but I doubt that we could make it very economical.

The stock gear does have some adjustability but I haven't taken the time to measure the range. I think the 928 guys say it might allow 3 degrees in either direction.

Thanks my Mech says the same thing, he said not to worry about it because the stock cam gear is adjustable, I believe he was just worried about getting the timing right for the motor within the stock gears tolerance for adjustment. He doesn't want to bend valves and have to start all over of course.
