Discovery Channel, 944 conversion Monster Garage

They convert a 944 into a golf ball picker upper that fires the balls back at the golfers at the driving range. It's a repeat, but worth watching again.

I just saw it tonight... a lot of people from Pelican were up in arms over this, but I thought it was pretty cool. The 944 looked and sounded badass, and they made a big deal of the fact that it was a Porsche instead of making fun of its "puny porsche" image. I thought it was really cool.

overkill, seeing it in action might just change your mind. That crazy 944 really tears it up.

I thought it was a pretty nice 944, I wish he knew how expensive a clutch job was when he was doing the burnouts, but I guess none of that matters since they tore the car apart.

Porsche Crest

I liked that show even before the 944, and when they said the next car would be a 944 I was excited because it's the car I own. I don't see why people hated it so much, I enjoyed it. The car looked great...good times

I watched the Monster Garage marathon last night.. Jesse James has always been a favorite custom Builder (boutique Builder)... this is a very cool show. Unfortunately I've missed the 944 show and would love to see it. Has anypne seen the Schoolbus pontoon boat episode?.. that was way-cool..

I enjoyed it, I was in Hawaii for two weeks when it aired. Since it rained most of the time we watched a ton of discovery channel.

Seemed to me that they were very pleased to have found a Porsche in their budget for the project. They stated that they wanted something fast and agressive, so they chose the 944.

On another note the entire time they trying to get it started for the first time I kept thinking they should check the timing belt, since it was a new purchase and all.

Some will love it, some will hate it, but you have to admit if you've seen his work- the man is as talented at working metal as they get. Car hacking aside, he's produced some amazing stuff!...CW

The car looked good, the car sounded AWESOME, it ended up being fast - not to mention the star of a cool show. Gullwing doors always help too.

Thumbs down

Consider how much money the dumbasses would have made if they SOLD the windows out of it rather than smashing them with hammers

some people just don't understand that Porsches are worth exponentially more when they AREN'T put together.

That episode was just on. The car turned out great. I liked the idea of using a PORSCHE to fire golfballs back at Golfers, it's like a caddyshack gag. I didn't have a problem with the destruction of the vehicle, because they probablly sold the vehicle afterwards to someone and they may have either used the salvageable parts or put the car back together. I didn't care for the Flames they looked VERY GAY in my opinion. the car isn't shped correctly for that kind of graphic. I'd go for more of a Euro geometric blocks and lines kind of thing.. ANYWAY!! great episode.

FYI the car is still owned by Discovery and tours along with all the other Monster Garage vehicles.

It tours? What does that mean, they take it to different places to show it off? That would be cool...I'd go to see the vehicles from that show.

There are various car shows where it makes appearances. I don't think they go to the 'serious' car shows (New York, LA) but rather cool custom and exotic shows. I think they will be at the Jan 15 show at the Bayside Expo Center in Boston if any of you are in the area.
