Question Humming in the rear & hesitation......

Hey guys! I have a hesitation under hard acceleration and with inspection I found a pretty loud humming on the fuel pump side of gas tank. Car stutters a little when idling sometimes too!

Is there a way to test the f. pump without just replacing it?

Any suggestions?

Thanks 86 951 Zermatt silver

Sounds like your fuel pump is going out.

If you have a Haynes manual, it details how to check fuel pump operation without removing it.

Clogged fuel filter?

Could this problem be related to a really clogged fuel filter? That would make the fuel pump work quite hard, and would cause hesitation and such. It would also probably wear out the fuel pump after a while.
