Mr Filk, you web site makes interrested reading. I have a 944S2 and from what I am reading you imply that if I set up my DME to use no O2 sensor I would get more power at part throttle because it is running different maps.

Don't think that just disconnecting the O2 sensor it will force the DME to use different maps.

My qustion is that the DME has to be set to run no O2 maps. Is this actually possible. The porsche workshop manual suggest it is.

Also does WOT maps differ from no O2 maps to O2 maps.

The DME ignores the O2 sensor during full throttle.

Yes, I know this. What I am asking is that a car not equiped with O2 also is not equiped with a CAT and as a result the maps should be different at full throttle for optimum performance.

S2 in UK where using the same DME for CAT and non CAT cars. It is legaly possible to remove the CAT here, which I did but I went into the trouble of fitting the O2 back so that I don't loose closed loop control. However what FR Wilk suggests is that removing the O2 might actually give me more power using European maps for part throttle.
