Ripped off? 89-944NA
Forum member 89-944NA seems like a good guy right? Well could someone enlighten me? I purchased a 944 skid plate/tray from him for $45 a couple months ago, and have not received a shipment or a refund still, and very little and sparse communication from him. First I was told he got address backwards and sent my part and another guy's part to each other's houses but the wrong city, so swapped. Then he said UPS "lost the package" I was never provided with any sort of tracking or confirmation number. He said he would send me another or refund me, and I'm thinking I would just like a refund at this point and try to source another, but he has not responded to my PM despite him logging on as recently as yesterday to the forum. I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt with what seems like a good track record here but at the moment I've been scammed for $45

Gawer,
If I had a pan I'd send it to you. I do not know, but there must be more unaware facts behind the information you posted. J_AZ

When dealing with the used parts market I always think about how many car payments I didn't have to make...

Yep, had a similar thing happen to me on this forum. I paid for a rear valance +3 months past, worked out the shipping details as I am overseas, but can get it shipped USPS. Was given the e-mail run-around from rush951, I will stick with ebay for the rest of my purchases. So much for the Porsche honor system. Even PM the forum moderator... not a peep.

If you paid with PayPal you can start a "dispute" or whatever they call it. That should help.

Sorry about your ordeal. It happened to me once already last summer; I purchased a driver's side fog lamp assembly and viola, my money disappeared as well as the promised item. I still have good luck but once in a while, reality bites back. My car is missing the pan also...

That sucks. I've had really good luck buying and selling on this site. Luckily everyone of my transactions have gone smoothly so far. Good luck getting your part or money!

I won't buy unless it ships UPS with a tracking number and I can pay via PayPal, even with that there are no guarantees. Too bad 89-944NA hasn't come forward and given his side of the story, hopefully he will soon. Bruce |

i buy and sell here and on rennlist. I rely on the other party being 110% GC's because from this corner of the world I can do very little except be noisy and annoying. Luckily all of my transactions have been very little hassle with established members. I use paypal every time.

The thing is, he seems like a good, established member. I am thinking there's more to it than just a cut and run
