Brake sensors!

Ok so I did my brakes a little bit ago. New rotors and pads. Right away I noticed my brake sensor light on in the dash. So I thought I simply didn't plug it in all the way. Now I'm finally getting to it again. I checked the continuity on the sensor and it is an closed circuit! I expected an open circuit! I'm I going crazy here. Please teach me!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1503272237.JPG

Is the brass clip square in the pad backing plate? It good practice to replace the sensors but I don't even though they are so cheap.

Does your car come with the clip that holds the red wire?

These are new sensors. The question is are they a closed circuit to begin with. Then I assume the wear breaks the circuit and the light comes on?

I had the light on forever, trying all sorts of nonsense to solve it.

Finally ponied up for a new brake wear sensor _wire_harness_ - like magic. Expensive magic.

Never managed to make a DIY harness... the wires corrode like hell underneath and way down the wires.

Check the ground for the harness too - maybe bumped?

The sensors are closed circuit when new, and the circuit opens when they are worn to indicate a need for pad replacement.

Minor update.
Cleaned all four grounds.
Checked the new sensors for conductivity.

Still the light is on! Suggestions

There are eight grounds - one on either end of the brake wear sensor wire harnesses.

Starting to think maybe the wire harness has gotten damaged!

the paint on your rotor might be outside the box but no ground there.

did you look in the round plug for corrosion? the cylinder cover usually wont clip shut if the plug isn't bottomed. you should have a ground on the rear at the bottom of the backing plate and I do believe it is on the strut housing up front.

off brand sensors?
