how to remove rear quater window

archives give several conflicting procedures. Is there a way that's actually preferred? Also what's the best way to replace it in regards to sealing?

Little sis needs new speakers:rolleyes:

Some people say it is possible to replace speakers without removing he window. You may need small hands though.

PUSH! it will pop out, use a screw driver around the inside edges and push, it should come out in a minute. Have fun

I managed to replace the rear speakers in my 924S without removing the rear windows. If you pull carefully around the seam by the window and lift it a little with a flat head screwdriver yo ucan get it to come loose. Even though i was careful, i did tear it a little but it wasnt noticeable. After you get the speakers in you can tuck the vinyl back under the window seal by lifting the rubber with the screwdriver.

Doing it this way didnt give me much room to work with though, but I was younger and afraid of taking out the windows.

When I did mine I tried it without taking out the window & was getting annoyed, so I tried taking out the window. DO IT, it made everything so much easier. To take it out just have someone stand outside the car to "catch" the window & you get inside & push/pry back moulding with screwdriver. Hardest part is getting the first corner, so start with the top back corner & things should go easy for ya.

To put it back in was easier yet, just put some kind of rope/string in the groove of the window, have someone push the window tight up against the car (on the outside) and you pull the string through. Hardest part is getting the last corner, so make it be one of the more rounded back corners & you'll have no trouble.
