n/a to S2

How hard is it to swap the S2 engine into the n/a? What all needs to be changed?

The short answer: it's hard.

There are lots of components that need lots of work, like the air intake. Also: you would want to upgrade your brakes to the 951 brakes (which the 944S2 has).

There are other components and issues, but I don't remember them (Perhaps someone with more technical experience can further describe).

In the past when this has come up, the general consensus was that it's probably more cost effective to sell an n/a and buy a complete 944S2.

But if you're up for an engine swap, and enjoy that kind of stuff, and have some funds to spare, then the project IS doable.

I had planned on getting 993 brakes before I swap it in. I had also planned on upgrading my suspension to a real @$$ happy set-up, oversteer is my friend

Off hand I'm pretty sure the torque tube/clutch assy should work. To swap the engine you will need the complete engine (though accessories should be interchangable) with all sensors, the wiring harness, and the DME.

Other than that it should be pretty smooth except for the intake/exaust.

It'd be wise to upgrade the brakes/suspension like Zoltan says. I think however that the 993 brakes would be overkill.

Brakes are cool! I would also like to go forced induction on it someday.
