yeah Ronin rocks, and it's really cheap on dvd. I haven't been able to find "No Man's Land" anywhere yet, prolly have to order it. Is there a 944 in risky business? There's a 944 in Cadillac man, it's a pretty good movie. It's only in one or two scenes. I think there is a gold one in a scene too that is hard to see.

There's a 928 in Risky Business. "Porsche: there is no substitute." "So, who's the U-Boat commander?" Watch it.

Anyways, i thought super troopers was just ok. However, i did just finish watching "The Boondock Saints." It's a movie about how two young irish chaps decide to become vigilantes and take on the mob. Very good movie imo. Next movie to watch is rounders and then boiler room.

Boondock Saints is a great movie as well.
If you have time, start watching the "Band Of Brothers" series. That is the best war movie I've ever watched. I haven't even finished it yet. |

I was babbling about Ronin somewhere. I guess its cheap in the stores cause the plot is merely average. But the chases are ridiculous. THATS a movie that makes me want to see how fast I can drive through town going into oncoming traffic blindfolded. After the fast and furious, I think I drove home mad cause the subs in my Oldsmobile weren't thugged out enough.

anyone see "Delirious" with John Candy? Drives a ferrari blindfolded...
I second Ronin as some of the best car scenes anywhere (and light on plot- whats in the silver case???). How about "Bullitt" the mustang chase scene is amazing- and there's a 356 in that. If you wanna taste of driving REALLY fast without the expensive bodywork I suggest Quantum Redshift for X-Box. WHEW!

i can't believe no one has mentioned the quintessential Porsche movie- Le Mans? how about Grand Prix with James Garner and Toshiro Mifune? that movie definately has the best cinematography out of any car movie.
or, if you really want to get tripped out- Vanishing Point . these have got to be my favorite car movies. the end of the Blues Brothers is definately classic. makes me want to run cop cars off the road...didn't i hear someone mention DeathRace 2000 on another thread? heh heh, i thought i was the only person to see that one. oh yeah, the original Gone in 60 Seconds has a great chase scene. i think the car thief dumps his mustang for a 356 somewhere during the last chase. that's a tough one to find. funny how there was no mention of it when the awful remake came out. i'd like to hear of any other recommendations. -nick

Nope- I saw Death race Twice actually- It was on premium cable early this week and I had to see it again to verify it's level of "badness". I lasted about 10 minutes. Its really awful, and has Keith Carradine. All it was missing was Joe Don Baker to absolutely one of the worst films ever. I didn't mention LeMans as I figured all of us already OWNED it. Vanishing Point- I loved that white 70 Challenger.
I regret to say i have also seen Speedway as well.

The best car movies ever (in the tone of the Simpson's Comicbook Store owner)
Ronin (Bar none) Gone in 60 Seconds (the original one, 1974) Bullitt (Steve McQueen, yeah!) Driven (Stallone boo! An Indy car through the city, yeaaah!) Mad Max (Aussies wrecking it up)

What about Gone In 60seconds?? Started off the movie with none other than a Porsche racing a ricer. Another non car movie that's my favorite is "The Matrix" Watched it over 20 times and have not gotten bored of it "He's starting to believe". Great movie. Also there is a 944 in the background when they are on their way to see the oracle.

"Not Another Teen Movie"
The lead guy drives a '88 944 which is shown most of the movie. And it's funny with lots of hot nekkid chicks through out the movie. -S

Yeah, when I watched Not Another Teen Movie, I could actually say, "Wow, that's my car!" and then my friend and I drove up and down in front of the theater showing off to all the chicks (yeah, like the ricers, sorry hehe)...
I am going to attempt to locate No Man's Land for rental tonight... hopefully I will find it
