I bought a new early windshield for about $130 installeld locally. I bet you could find a similar deal if you looked around.

Was the windshield you found through a large chain or was it strictly a local guy?

Never even thought about doing the local glass shop check. I do live in Podunk TN, where everyone looks dumbfounded if it involves anything other than Fords or Chevys. Thanks for the advice!

It was a smaller, local shop. I called around and found them to be the cheapest. Some places wanted around $400 for the same job. I feel like $130 installed for a new windshield was a steal. Call every place in town until you find a good price. I didn't even realize the place I had do my windshield sold glass until I took the 944 to them to have the windows tinted. I noticed them replacing a windshield outside their shop and 30 minutes later they had 2 guys working on my windshiled with another doing my tint. I think I paid maybe $250 for the 5% tint all around and the new windshiled installed. I even have a year warranty and my first 3 chip repairs are free. If you're calling around and run out of glass shops, check under tint shops as well as many of them also do glass and they may not have the glass portion listed in a seperate category.
