I mounted a set of 951/S2 covers to my car; it’s not a win battle but a big step forward
Both moulds will need a bit of trimming; they are too high at the bend ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I would be happy to take a set. I'd need them for an '86 951, in fiberglass with the clear lenses. Let me know how much and where to send payment!
Thanks, Shane |

The 924/944 GTS headlight kit and the similar 951/S2 kit that is under development just took a huge step backwards and this might kill the whole project.
My glasser gave me new (sky rocketing) price for the fibreglass and carbon fibre buckets which I didn’t agree with so I walked away with my moulds. I already have ideas to overcome this situation but both would require me to invest lots of time and energy which I’m not sure I can support at the moment. I will give myself a reflection period before I make any move or take any decision. Thanks

First I would like to thanks all of you who offered me to make the buckets.
I appreciate your offer and I will keep it in mind but I’m afraid that shipping and import fee will raise the price too much. So, I will keep shopping around to find a local shop. For now, I will focus on the 951/S2 covers and will build the first kit for my tester. This might take a while as my garage is not heated and my boss told me that I will be working extended hours during the months of January and February, so minimum time to dedicate to this project during this period. Thank you all for your support

I may have looked wrong for the brackets. All I saw was head lights that came in either low beam OR high beam, which are separate lights and would require two lights in each bucket.
Cheers, Larry

The Hella kits in my photo above are a single unit providing high and low beam function when plugged into the stock 924/944 harness. (The dual light setups in many GM cars have the outer light only do low beam and the inner light do high beam, but the outer lights are capable of operating at higher output and can be used as both low- and high-beam).
The Hella kits routinely sell for $80-$120 per assembly. I am offering them at $65 per side (so $130 for a pair) + shipping. These are bonafide Hella H4 kits with replaceable H4 bulbs. ![]() In addition, you would need the GM-style frame + backing assembly. These only come as a complete unit with a sealed beam headlamp. I have not found a source that will sell them without the sealed beam headlight. I can also provide these assemblies as brand new in box, black frame and rear bucket for $24.70 per side or $49.40 for the pair, plus shipping.

Hi everyone,
I took Friday off to work on the 951/S2 GTS headlight project and got the first kit for my tester finalized. Also I’m expecting an estimate from a local glasser tomorrow, finger cross. In case is too pricy, I’m making progress on a possible bucket replacement with overall similar result. I will let you all know when I’m ready for your order and will share the tester review. Here are few pics of the 951/S2 kit. Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very interested. Q: how will the cover get attached/ sealed to the bucket, and will you have replacement covers available? This is intended for a street car so it will see rain.

Hi,
Thanks for your interest Here’s the installation hardware required for installation and included with instruction in all kits ![]() The front of the covers are moulded to the nose panel and don’t require any hardware. The buckets interlock to the covers at the front and locked in at the back with the “L” shape brackets. The covers are folded down all around and the buckets are inside, so rain will not penetrate. ![]()

86 951 very interested in your conversion kit. Great work and I hope you sell a lot of them. Like the way you set the 4x6 back thru the bucket. I really like the Dual Head light conversion set up that is made in Switzerland, but the price is just too high. Do you have any info on a dual light set that can be adapted to your buckets? And are you offering lexan (polycarbonate) covers? I've worked with both materials over the years and don't much care for plexiglass for and durability requirements.
Thanks, David |
