I fixed my door problem with a metal sleeve.

I glued the sleeve with some red glue and it works.
Now the driver's door opens with no issues.

Problem is the wear on the pin over the years makes it almost impossible for you to open your driver door.
My cost: labor and some part small enough to fit that pin.....free!
