90 roller
What are rollers going for nowadays? I found a car with papers, mostly straight body, half an engine, no transmission or torque tube. Many bits and pieces inside.

500 tops; more likely it is just scrap. "mostly straight body" really means crooked body. Scrap. Half the engine there really means the other half isn't.

Mostly straight means some minor dents. No accidents. The heads are gone. There are several complete cars around me with no papers. Hence the plan was to strip them both build one car and dump the unregistered body and useless parts. I did it before with 944s.

$500 US is what I would offer. Need to see pictures to assess more. There are many many rollers out there, and people can't give them away.

Does it matter if it still has brakes, suspension, glass and most of its interior?

Are you buying or selling? If buying - $500 is the offer, and $1K is the top of the deal, otherwise, keep shopping. If you are selling, $2K is the ask, and $1K is the bottom. These cars are great, but still a long way from being valuable as a simple frame with a VIN like 356s and old 911s (plus, we have no frames anyway ).

in fact, here's one that does have some valuable parts in it that you could likely get for close to $1500, right here on this board: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-928-technical-forum/946345-1978-porsche-928-sale.html.
The above car sounds like it has the entire drive train intact. If you are looking for a project, the above car would be a good starting point and candidate for a save. Pasha interior is quite valuable on the early cars.

3 months later the seller contacted me again. We agreed on $600 plus delivery $100. I'll get it at the end of the month because I need to make room for it. Of course it had to happen when I just started building my deck. Spring/Summer projects begin.

Oh, wow. Are you planning on shipping it to another country?
Unless things have changed drastically since I last lived there, it will have to pass annual inspections, and the car will pretty much have to be as-new in every way.

I plan to do a complete restoration/ swap with a parts car, which is an 87 sport model I drove 15 years ago. Since then the owner died and the papers lost. The roller gives me papers and clean vin. I did the same thing to 944 auto a few years. I found a complete S2 with no papers, swapped everything over.

No exhaust, transmission, torque tube, headlights, most of the engine ancillaries. On the plus side mostly straight body, sport seats. Next week I'll strip it to see what I have.

![]() ![]() ![]() Seats came up nicely. Thanks vinegar and Lexol. The PO should be shot and castrated for what he did to this car. Instead of removing switches like a human he cut them from the wiring harness. Oh, the joys of wiring harness repair. I sprayed water on the door card and headliner to straighten them out. I wish I didn't give away those headlights I was sitting on for 10 years. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Got a lot of wiring repairs, the dash board, sunroof and headliner done. Luckily I could find 90% of the interior trim. I started compounding the body. Found 3 rust spots around the rear 1/4 glasses. Probably need to compound it about 3 more times. I'm quite pleased.

Got a crank pulley, timing belt tensioner rollers and arms, I polished rust off the nose of the crank and oil pump crank. I changed the oil, started to turn the oil pump only then I noticed the oil cooler lines are gone. Oil all over the floor. Ahhh.
