1984 928 S2 Euro spec power steering failure

Hi All,

Was out for a drive and lost my power steering.
everything else seems fine.

just thought i'd check here to see if it could be anything I could do first.

I checked the auto transmission fluid but it's fine, topped up as it should be.

thanks

i'd check the belt first - then the level of the fluid in the power steering reservoir

Hi honerboys,

that's great, do you have a picture to indicate where the power steering belt is?
I will check the internet too.
i've checked the fluid reservoir and topped it up but this was fine, wasn't even low.
so i'll check the belt, it must be the belt, i guess it gave up on life!

also wondering if there is a house for sale on your street??!!!!
i need to be your neighbour!!
but seriously, big big thanks, i'd love to buy you an amazon gift voucher for
the help you've given me. It has saved me a fortune.

thanks

Hi honerboys,

Great, got it. The belt is there but hanging off.

Ordering a new belt now and will have a go when it comes.

Any advice on fitting the net belt??
Do i need to jack up the car and get underneath?
This is what I have found out so far:
I have pics of the bolts i need to loosen, i believe there is 3 or 4 of them
and i need to leave about 10mm play in the middle.

seen lots of belts from £6.00 on ebay made by some junk company but will buy the
Porsche original, it's £10 more so makes better sense to get.

thanks, much appreciated
