Wife's MB giving more of a 928 itch
Last two years I've been on the fence, parking issues in our area are insane, making driving our 928's hard, and doing needed repairs ourselves impossible. Pressure grew from the family to get rid of those cars, and that got me to the point of either doing so or doing / spending whatever it takes to routinely drive them.
Buying two other cars is shaping the decision. Family hauler was a new Scion Xb, aka the toaster, and it gave a nice taste of what it was like to have a completely trouble free reliable car, but very boring and nothing special. Wife's car is another matter, 2012 MB SLK350, teeny car 162" long to park in the driveway, fully automatic convertible hardtop, 290 hp with a 6 spd AT. It scoots, not as crazy scoots as the 55 amg, but its plenty fast. Its also full of late model MB nice stuff like a great sound system, heated seats, lots of little bits. Downside is that I am a touch too big, and despite the power it doesn't do much of the "fun" that the 928 does, so it actually has me going in the fix and drive the 928 direction.

These cars get under your skin don't they? I've tried to rationalize getting rid of my 928 for years, and all I end up doing is scheming to add another to the collection... oh well...
at least I have a patient wife and no HOA
