Wiper Judder Action not smooth

Having cleaned and checked every electrical connector around the motor, the wipers on an '80 seem to be the worst performing of any model, that Porsche ever built.

They often work in moderate to heavy rain, but anything resembling drizzle presents stuttering, balking behavior which is abysmal. Fresh Bosch blades improved action by 10%, only. Have not seen the brushes, but have a feeling it may be something else.

Also, High speed is the same speed as medium, no higher. Have yet to confirm if there is voltage drop across the motor. Can a relay affect performance in this way..relays usually work, or they don't.

Windshield Wiper Motor Bearings -

Hey Duck - :) Sometimes the windshield wiper motors will have water accumulate inside and the bearings themselves begin to drag from internal rust.

The motor is kind of tough to get out but can be rebuilt. This should be the correct replacement bearings - 10 x 26 x 8mm. The Std bearing is #6000 for both sides of the armature.

Make sure to mark the positions of all the arms with a sharpy so everything will be timed correctly on reassembly -

Good Luck - Michael

Very well done...hadn't considered bearings at all.

After using them this way for years, all I need is motivation to tear it down.
