Window winder mechanism reinstall
 

I've had this out of my 79 to change the motor and reinstalling. There's lots of info available on this but most appears to say the mechanism bolts straight to the door. Should there be rubber buffers in between the mechanism and the door? I 'had x2 about 20mm thick and x2 about 10mm thick sitting in the bottom of the door. Could anyone explain where they go?! Thanks
